We produced a series of brief videos for use as a part of a tour to promote Beautiful, clean and environmentally friendly places in Glasgow. Including Glasgow Southern Necropolis, Yorkhill Park, Overnewton Square, Finn’s Place and Square Yard.
The goal was to take viewers on a trip through Glasgow to learn about the heritage and activities at Green Flag parks and extra neighbourhood groups. The main goal for us was to avoid lecturing the audience. Instead, we focused on community volunteers, those who have made caring for their heritage a significant part of their lives. We focused on the volunteer’s stories, what these spaces mean to them, how it relates to their sense of community, and how giving back to their community impacts their lives. In many cases, this was the only recorded instance of such stories, making it an unprecedented access to a wealth of Glasgow oral histories.
